Therapy for patients with talipes (clubfeet)

Talipes (clubfeet) is a deformation whereby the foot is usually severely twisted, so that the sole of the foot is not in contact with the floor whilst walking. These patients walk on the outer edge of the foot.

1) Plaster stretching: Also in that case, the deformity gets brought back into the normal positon.

2) Allocation of assistive devices: A special shoe or a calliper circumvents the redeformation of the foot into the original defective position. Hence the patient is able to walk, while the foot is in the normal position.
